A colorful, creative NYC engagement in Times Square with a cartoon character photobomb…
NYC is one of Gina & Kyle’s favorite places to go on a date night– they enjoy the city in general and love to explore different restaurants together. Kyle surprised Gina with tickets to see Wicked on Broadway for her birthday, following the show, he took her out for drinks, which is when he “popped the question.”
You can see Gina’s engagement ring below. I know that this couple loves eye-catching color, so the background shows all of the colors of times square…
Kyle is a total gentleman and that is part of what initially attracted Gina to him. Here you can see him opening her taxi door ;). I love how the patterns of the buildings are brought out in the reflection of the taxi door and it’s pretty fitting that the taxi says “gentleman” too…
Gina is a very compassionate person, she loves to take care of people and works as a nurse. The image below shows a moment when Gina was taking care of Kyle– straightening his tie. The look on his face says it all (as you can see in the image above, too), was so proud to be out with her and that he appreciated her caring…
In the middle of their shoot, Gina & Kyle were photobombed by Cookie Monster and Minnie Mouse. They just laughed about it and went with the flow. They are both super down to earth and don’t take themselves too seriously, so this moment really showed their character– Cookie Monster also perfectly complemented Gina’s cobalt blue theme, haha.
The image below is so perfect for them because of the poster in the background… it was actually an advertisement for Chicago the musical. It was the perfect sentiment for the two whose proposal followed seeing a broadway musical together and are each other’s one and only 😉
One of the main challenges with having a photoshoot in times square is keeping the focus on the couple when there are (according to Wikipedia) over 330,000 there daily. The photo below is what the scene looked like to most people…
In these next two images you can see the exact same scene through my eyes…. See the hersheys billboard and ticker tape message here? You can see that Gina and Kyle are standing in the exact same place:
Again, they are standing in the same place… I just manually changed all of my camera settings and applied a filter to create this scene, where it brings out their blue theme and looks like they are the only two people in Times Square!
Gina and Kyle– I loved working with you. Your “go with the flow” personalities and trust really allowed me to capture your true colors in the city. I think it’s awesome that you shared that I really made you feel comfortable during the photoshoot and even forget about the 300,000+ other people. I hope you enjoy the images. I’m so excited for your wedding day!
