A fun, vibrant *Kayaking* engagement session…
Kristen & Aaron contacted me looking for colorful, creative engagement and wedding photography. They were looking for a photographer who would help them to feel comfortable in front of the camera and be able to capture their true colors on camera.
Kristen told me, “You capture the heart and soul of your couples and tell the story of who they are! We both love that!” She also shared, “You made us feel comfortable from the start. We wanted our photos to be fun, relaxed and carefree (no awkward posing) and that is exactly what you did!”
Here they are pulling their kayaks to the water together. I manually dragged my shutter to show movement as they walked, blurring the grass beneath their feet but keeping them in sharp focus:
Aaron introduced Kristen to Kayaking. She is a “city girl” and had never been involved in outdoor activities that were important to Aaron who loves to fish, hunt and generally enjoy the outdoors. Kristen was impressed with how patient and caring Aaron has been with her– guiding her and teaching her, and now she shares a love of the outdoors, too!
I like how this image shows what a gentleman Aaron is, he put in her Kayak first and helped her in before getting in himself.
Aaron wasn’t particularly wild about having engagement photos taken, but when I mentioned maybe incorporating their interest of kayaking during our consultation, they both loved the idea. The mountains in Canoe Creek are breathtaking and a very important place for Aaron, his mother used to take him there with him when he was young, so bringing Kristen there was exciting.
These two are hard-workers with demanding summer schedules and found that Kayaking is the perfect way for them to spend time together and relax.
I love this photo of Kristen pulling ahead in the lead, water droplets spraying through the air and a huge smile on her face. It is that fun, playful, carefree spirit that they both have and it is a beautiful thing to see!
Once Aaron realized that Kayaking was one of Kristen’s favorite things to do, he bought her a kayak for her next birthday. It is clear to see how much Aaron cares about Kristen and how supportive and proud he is of her. He always helps her even if it means he has to get wet to do so!
Love the vibrant colors in this one– from the green grass that I’m shooting through, to the purple mountains and their reflection in the water and the colorful kayaks, I love how these photos just pop right off the page!
This adorable couple was actually set up by Aaron’s dad, who worked with Kristen and thought that the two of them would make a good match!
Adorable– I like that you can see the bubbles on the water and their reflection, too:
I wanted a photograph that would show the full scene of this beautiful central PA location…
