King Mansion Harrisburg Wedding: Carissa & Malachi

I loved photographing this King Mansion Harrisburg Wedding for Carissa and Malachi!

I still can’t believe I took the first “romantic photo” of Carissa and Malachi ever!!  Crazy story, they knew each other from work and were both invited to Carissa’s sister’s wedding that I was photographing.  I saw them dancing (their literal first dance) and snapped a picture.  I told them they were a cute couple and they laughed b/c they weren’t even a couple yet!  Funny how things came full circle!!

Why Rhinehart Photography?

Carissa shared, “Lisa photographed my sister’s wedding in 2016 and we loved the creativity of the shots. She was able to capture so many special moments, the beautiful and the crazy, the love and excitement. We knew she would be the perfect choice for our wedding because she would help us relive all the amazing moments of the day

Malachi said, “Lisa is a master at her craft and especially is skilled with using light.  The way she captures the colors and plays with lighting adds an extra element to all the photos.” Carissa added, “Working with Lisa on the wedding day was great, she helped keep us on schedule and ensured we got all the special shots we wanted. ”

Malachi continued, “We loved working with her for the engagement sessions and the wedding day because Lisa is so fun and prepared.

Carissa said, “Malachi was always ‘the boy at the campground.’ After we danced at my sister’s wedding, he asked me out. He was the first serious relationship I had ever had.”

Malachi said, “I love how hardworking Carissa is. She pours so much of herself into work, into school, and into her relationships.”

Carissa echoed the thoughts, saying, “Malachi often works seven days a week. His work ethic is inspiring. He can do it all. His hands can fix a machine can braid my hair, haha!”

Malachi said, “I grew up in the Methodist Church, so being able to marry the love of my life there was so special. We knew the stained glass windows would look gorgeous in photos. Malachi said,

He added, “We loved the knot-tying and the tree-planting ceremonies that cemented our love in unique ways.”

He continued, “It was an incredible day with our family and friends. Carissa looked so beautiful in her dress- watching her walk down the aisle will forever be one of my favorite memories.

The streamers after the church service were so cute!  The long corridor and stone arch of the First United Church Hershey were such fun backdrops to play with, too!

Carissa said, “My sister Aleaha gave me access to King’s Mansion for our wedding photography! Both the inside and outside are stunning and complemented my Eve of Milady dress. Taking pictures there was like a dream come true!

Traditional, Candid and Creative Wedding Photography

Carissa smiled, “As Malachi and I built our relationship, we found passions to explore together. We started backpacking, explored bed and breakfasts, and shared our love for cats. ”

Malachi added, “For years we saw each other when I worked for her dad at my family’s campground, and after we danced together at her sister’s wedding, I asked her out. It was the best decision I ever made.

Malachi mentioned, “The trolley was a fun way for me and my guys to get to the ceremony! We all had such a blast dancing and singing on the party bus later on as well.”

Carissa laughed, “I also enjoyed spinning around on the pole in the party bus. Everyone singing along to songs and having a great time on the bus was one of my favorite parts of the day!”

Colorful Best Western Harrisburg Wedding Reception

Carissa said, “The Best Western exceeded our expectations. We loved the lobby with the twinkle lights and were excited to have an entire room for cocktail hour so our guests could sit while also having room to mingle. ”

Carissa continued, “We really wanted the day to be unique and capture some of our interests. Our love for the outdoors inspired the enchanted forest wedding theme! We were really excited about the caricature artist, the tree centerpieces, and our late-night snack.”

Malachi added, ” The ballroom was like a blank canvas, and we loved being able to select drapery, a monogram, and lighting to make it special and capture our Enchanted Forest Theme.”

Harrisburg Wedding Traditions

Carissa said, “I cried a lot on my wedding day, especially during the first dances and my sister’s speech. I recommend a private first dance to everyone. I swear my life with Malachi flashed before my eyes. It was surreal”

Carissa smiled, “Both of my sister’s speeches were so well done. Brianna’s had me laughing and Aleaha’s had me crying, well, sobbing actually. I especially lost it when she mentioned how Malachi always seemed like he was meant to be in our family. I am so thankful for the bond I share with my sisters.”

Happily Ever After

Carissa reflected back, saying, “The day was so special because we got to spend it with everyone we loved and enjoy the day we planned for a year and a half. Our beautiful wedding photography brings back all those great moments, just like we knew it would!

Carissa noted, “Lisa actually captured Malachi and I dancing at my sister’s wedding before we were even dating! Then she captured our wedding.
