This winter Liberty Mountain Resort wedding featured golden holiday lights, red berries, blue skies, and lots of authentic moments between these two college sweethearts…
Why Rhinehart Photography?
Morgan says, “Photography is very important to us. We looked at so many wedding photographers’ work, and Lisa’s stood out to us the most. Hers was the vibe we wanted for our photos. I want to be able to relive the emotions of that day and knew Lisa would be able to do that for us and for generations to come.“
Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding Preparations
Morgan shares, “They knew my favorite part of getting ready was doing my own makeup because it was my time to chill and just be me and do what I love.”
I love to play with light, shadows, color, and reflections-– here’s a bit of all of it!
Meet Morgan & her Bridal Party!
Morgan says, “My girls consisted of my sister, cousin, Justin’s cousin, sister-in-law, two best friends, and of course my goddaughter (life of the party). They are all very diverse people so it was also fun to see all sides come together and just get to know each other. I love all those girls and I couldn’t have picked better people to be there for me on my wedding day.”
Morgan continues, “My best friend who was a bridesmaid recently got married the summer before our wedding so she was walking me through everything. She was the girl making sure everyone was taken care of and no one was stressed. She was making sure we all had drinks in our hands. Later I found out she was popping the champagne bottles as a cover up. The day after our wedding she announced she was pregnant (her husband is the best man), not only was it an amazing weekend but we also found out a new family member coming into this world. I have to admit she played it cool and made it seem like she was drinking but she wasn’t. I felt my girls really just did everything before I even thought of it.”
Meet Justin & His Tribe
While I was capturing Morgan and the ladies, my second photographer, Kelly was capturing Justin, his groomsmen, and the rest of his tribe! I love this portrait of Justin, it almost looks three-dimensional to me, and I love that he helped his mama put in her earrings!!
Morgan shares, “The best qualities about Justin is he is optimistic and very chill. This man does not freak out at all he is super chill and it helps me when I am being a spaz. He is also so caring, ambitious, and supportive. He is also an amazing cat dad.”
She adds, “Justin and his friends have a fantasy football league so we make sure to see them for the draft every year. I am also the honorary member because we have held the draft at our house and had about 12 of them sleep in our tiny townhome.”
‘First Look’ at Liberty Mountain Resort!
What are first looks? Well, it is an opportunity to see each other prior to the ceremony, get out those jitters, really get to take it all in, and knock out all of the photos ahead of time so that you can fully enjoy your cocktail hour!
Morgan laughs, “Our first look was great! I pulled off making him tear up so I felt very accomplished, haha! After dating him for 7 years it finally felt like, ‘okay we are doing this and we don’t have anything to worry about.’ I felt like most people get nervous, and I usually am a complete wreck in everyday life but that was the first day I would say I was calm.”
She smiles, “Everyone was like how are you keeping it together and I just said it’s been a long time and I know it’s the right thing. I’m not scared or nervous I just want to marry him.”
How They Met
Morgan laughs, “Well our story is a funny one. We both attended Mount St Mary’s University. I was a freshman and he was a junior. I knew a fair amount of upperclassmen, but not this man, haha!”
She continues, “He added me on Facebook one day and I had no clue who he was. I never saw him before and maybe thought I somehow ran into him somewhere. I messaged him saying hey and soon after we started talking. About a year into dating he told me that he friend requested me on Facebook because he thought I was someone else he met at our Tiki dance on campus. I knew exactly who he was talking about. This girl was my doppelgänger on campus and everyone called me her name and got us mixed up. There was a fair share of times in the library when tutees were looking for her and approached me.”
Morgan smiles, “Little does this girl know that if it wasn’t for her dancing with Justin at Tiki we may not have ever met. Thanks girl!”
An Ecclectic Mix of Photography
I capture moments, portraits, landscapes, and details and really give you so much variety in your photos that you get to see not just what you look like, but also what it felt like and all those little details that came together to make your day unique.
Here I have a traditional portrait of these two that I can totally see framed on a family member’s fireplace, but then here you can see something as tiny as goosebumps!
Lisa, why are you IN the Landscaping?
A lot of times people worry I won’t have enough to work with at their venue… but honestly, all I need to get great wedding photos are two people who are in love, decent light and I can pretty much work with the rest. While this scene might not look like much to most people, this is what I see…
Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding Party
Justin met his friends in a variety of places. He met his best man, Andrew, in school. They played on the same baseball, football, and wrestling teams. Christer, his brother-in-law, came into his life when he was in middle school in the form of his big sister’s new boyfriend. He met Steve during his freshman year at the Mount. Justin also met Adrian and Jordan through work.
Justin says, “These five men have shaped and enriched my life thus far and will continue to do so. It’s been a blessing to know them and I cannot wait for us to make new memories as our lives progress and continue to grow together.”
Liberty Mountain Resort Winter Wedding
Morgan says, “We chose Liberty Mountain Resort roughly a year and a half prior to our wedding day. Our friends previously had their wedding there and we absolutely fell in love with Liberty when we were there.”
She continues, “We like the woodsy nature vibe and the best part was really figuring out ways how to incorporate the pine cones (because winter) and also we handmade all my bouquets so we could save them and also they are all uniquely different.
Morgan adds, “Our colors were navy blue and champagne gold. It is very Mount St. Mary’s of us but it’s honestly just because I like those colors. When I pictured our wedding in December, I just knew gold was needed and small amounts of greenery such as pine ones to make people feel like it was a woodsy fairytale.”
Scientists at Heart 😉
It was important to Justin and Morgan that they incorporated personal touches into their wedding day. For example, Morgan’s bouquet had a charm of their cat, Ness, on it. They also incorporated the periodic table of elements into their table numbers, a super cute nod to their science backgrounds.
Ordering Prints and Albums
Justin shares, “It was super easy to order a bunch of different types of items (we ordered prints, ornaments, etc) from Lisa’s website. There were a lot of great options for the album that she custom designed for us. It was definitely difficult to decide because we loved them all!! We gave Lisa the creative freedom! Our biggest tip is to hire a great photographer & trust their vision!”
Let’s Get This Party Started!
Morgan smiles, “Our day was so much fun to the point where it felt like it was over so quickly but I was just so happy to experience it and see everyone have a good time. We will also have these photos to look back on for many years to come!”
The Mount
Morgan says, “I love everyone from the Mount. We are all family and every time we see each other we are full of laughter. We only see each other when one of us gets married or when we have the football draft. So this year we were the ones to tie the knot. I think we have one more coming up this summer getting married off, so we will have another reunion soon.”
Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding Magic
Their wedding day felt so magical and I really wanted to incorporate that into their photos. There were string lights decorating Liberty Mountain Resort. I used a wide-open aperture to really show the lights in a creative way.
