Authentic, strong, natural, creative, empowered— what a dream it was to work as a creative branding photographer for Dr. Rachel Day of OneSkin Dermatology!!
Her full-day shoot included several outfit/location changes and was just so much fun!!

Rachel continues, “As for the final product, Lisa’s photos of our brand clearly communicate genuine care about our patients and ourselves; an interrelatedness of human experience that helps people feel at home in our care environment. We have already been able to utilize Lisa’s imagery in so many ways.”
I set out to capture as many facets of Rachel’s brand and personhood as I possibly could with the goal of visually conveying her authentic self, brand, and story. Each of her images has such a different vibe!
Creative Branding Photographer for Businesses
We started out shooting at OneSkin, Rachel’s office, where she practices integrative dermatology. This was the more formal part of the session and featured headshots of each office staff member and the physical space of the building. The idea for these was so that she could use them on her website and social media accounts.
Rachel shares, “Our main goal is to support patients through a personalized care experience and develop a long-term relationship with them. We also wanted to capture the trust and love that we bring into our practice environment.”
Remedy Park Creative Branding Photographer
While Rachel is a Dermatologist she also owns Remedy Park! Remedy Park is a community space that gathers women together for wellness initiatives. I myself have enjoyed an incredible yoga class there and a women’s business leadership seminar. She does rent this space out for events and even photoshoots– highly recommend it!!
Rachel shares, “Remedy means medicine for disease or injury. It is a space for celebration and joy, which is some of the best medicine anyone could ask for. As a brand, we celebrate the individual and the significance and power of many coming together as one. We are building a health community and showcasing the different aspects of health we support was important to capture in our session.”

Rachel says, “Our brand photos have been used in social media, newsletters, and other communications with our community. They are also a beautiful timestamp in our business’s evolution!”
She mentioned to me at the end of the session, how empowered and seen she felt and that it would really be nice to do one of these annually for the experience and to re-fill her content. I couldn’t agree more!
Scars and Shadows: When Creative Branding Photography Gets Real
As a creative branding photographer, I make sure to capture the many sides of you. In Rachel’s case, it was important to capture the shadows and scars as well as the smiles and joy.
So much of her brand is about connection to self and authenticity that I really played these elements up. They also add visual interest to her images and tell a story.
I was trying to convey ideas like self-acceptance, strength, joy, connection to nature, and even spirituality.
Location Suggestions from a Creative Branding Photographer
During her session, I suggested one of my favorite kayaking spots that I felt would mirror her vibe and convey warmth, and connection, and show her being authentically herself in her natural element.
Rachel shares, “The locations of our shoot included the practice, the event center in Remedy Park, and shots in nature. Our practice is our home base and the place where we care for our patients primarily. We wanted to show the attention to environmental comfort that helps people feel themselves and have the best care experience.”
She continues, “Remedy Park is a community extension of our practice environment. Finally getting out in nature’s splendor really speaks to our brand’s values and approach. We find the beauty in what is and help people connect to their nature. Our treatments are subtle and gorgeous enhancements, never masking the uniqueness of our individuality.”
Brainstorming as a Creative Branding Photographer
A unique element of my creative branding photography services is that I have a meeting where we brainstorm together, everything from the messages you want to convey to what to wear and where to go. I literally hold your hand through the process!
In this case, I helped Rachel to find this gorgeous light and helped to bring her out of her shell and even got a glimpse of her goofy side!!
What a treat it is to have this incredible woman in my community and to enjoy the healing events she has hosted at Remedy Park! I feel honored to have captured her and her unique brand and look forward to collaborating more in the future!
