Perry Belmont House Wedding Photographer: Tiffany & Russell

3 weddings, 3 dresses, 3 states– photographing their (final) Washington DC wedding made me so proud to be a Perry Belmont House Wedding Photographer!

Why Rhinehart Photography?

Tiffany shares, “Our wedding planner recommended Rhinehart Photography.  I had a great feeling after I viewed Lisa’s work and chatted with her about our vision. I love Lisa’s unique perspective and I also really appreciate her artistic ways of capturing moments.”

She smiles, “I’m an art lover and one of my favorite things to in Washington DC is to visit the National Portrait Gallery. I wanted these wedding photos to feel like works of art that we would want to display on our walls.”

She continues, “I think Lisa has a great eye and obvious technical mastery which translates to total package – first coming up with novel ideas and then executing with various lenses, lighting, etc.”

With this photograph, I noted the contrast, symmetry, lines and texture.  I wanted to capture the balance in Tiffany and Russel’s relationship and show off the incredible architecture of the Perry Belmont House, which is in and of itself a stunning work of art!

About this Perry Belmont House Couple

Tiffany & Russell have a unique wedding story— three weddings (7/25/20, 2/26/22, 4/29/23), three dresses, and three states (Colorado, Texas, DC)!

Tiffany smiles, “We first met while getting our MBA at the University of Texas in Austin but didn’t fall in love until after school was over. The timing was finally right and Russell and I went on our first date in Dallas almost two years after we graduated. We had immediate chemistry and realized quickly that we wanted to be together forever. I fell in love with Russell’s charm, thoughtfulness, generosity, and steadfast moral compass.

Perry Belmont House Wedding Photographer: Venue

Tiffany says, “Our original Washington DC wedding venue for the 2020 wedding was the National Museum of Women in the Arts, which is now closed for renovation. The Perry Belmont was a fabulous second option for a rescheduled 2023 wedding.”

She laughs, “I actually first saw the interior in person on the day of the wedding party and couldn’t have been more thrilled. What a gorgeous and fascinating venue from top to bottom! I loved the opulence and grandeur exhibited by the gold detailing, the sprawling staircase, and the iron and gold entry doors! I also appreciated the bridal room where Russell and I could sneak a bite of food at the beginning and share some quiet moments during the party.”

The gold detailing is out of this world.  The Perry Belmont House is extraordinarily stunning and gives me so much to play with aesthetically– wait until you see…

Perry Belmont House Wedding Photographer: Portraits

A few family portraits— I usually don’t post these on my blog but thought it would be nice to show a few.

I set aside enough time to get the standard smile and look at the camera sort of photos and gave a bit of a buffer to allow for more creative compositions, genuine smiles and a few more candid shots as well.

You can see the quality of the lighting, composition, and variety I’m able to offer.

Perry Belmont House Wedding Photographer: Details

The ballroom, OMG!!!  The first time I stepped in it took my breath away!!   Its as if I suddenly stepped into the Palace of Versailles.

I stumbled upon the quote, “If architecture is frozen music, surely The Perry Belmont House is one of the greatest symphonies ever composed”

All the red, gold and pops of contrasting white.  How stunning!!

Perry Belmont House Wedding Photographer: Traditions

Tiffany smiles, “I am very close to my parents. They have been so loving and supportive my entire life and have made me the woman I am today. They have a contagious zest for life and love for their families and I think both of those came through in our wedding reception.”

So classic, I of course photographed all of the traditions, but for the blog I really focused on Tiffany’s dad’s speech

First off I want to give a big shout-out to this couple for *supporting live music and musicians*. There is nothing like a super-talented live band like The Bachelor Boys to get a party started and really elevate cocktail hour!

Tiffany elaborates, “The Bachelor Boys band was amazing! We wanted the dance floor to be packed all night and it was!! Music will always be an important part of our lives — I was exposed to a lot of different music as a child and played the piano. Russ is a talented guitar player and even played some really cool venues in LA when he was in a band in college.  We both share a love of live music and have been to a ton of concerts collectively.  It’s super important to us that we pass down this love of music to our son, Jack, as well.”

Authentic Moments on the Dance Floor

I am drawn to the energy on the dance floor and artistic elements like texture, color, and line.  Anticipating moments like this and snapping a photo at just the right time is something I love to do.  Here I’m showing off Tiffany’s feather trim and adorable heels, the contrasty shadow on the dance floor, the jewel tones surrounding her and the empty water glass.  The elements come together to tell a story of the overall vibe on the dance floor– elevated, chic, playful

At the End of the Night…

Tiffany smiles, “Since this was our third wedding (all to the same person haha!)– it was truly a joyful celebration. Without the pressure of the formalities of a ceremony, we were able to have fun and enjoy the time both with each other and with our guests.  I felt remarkably at ease (aside from some of the baby complications but that’s a whole different story!).  The part of the night I was looking forward to the least, the dances, ended up providing my favorite memories. Overall it was a beautiful night— made extra special by the love and support of our family and friends– that we will remember forever.”
