Historic Gettysburg, vibrant colors, mini golf, and an adorable pup— don’t miss it, I love being a Gettysburg Engagement Photographer!
Why Rhinehart Photography?
The first time I photographed Caitlyn, she was a bridesmaid at her friend Lauren’s wedding! Fast forward a few years, and it was Caitlyn’s turn to reach out to me looking for vibrant, authentic, beautiful engagement photos. Goodness Caitlyn, thank you so much for your kind words! So very touching! I appreciate YOU!!
Caitlyn shares, “Lisa was so great and easy to work with at my friend Lauren’s wedding! As a bridesmaid, I noticed that she was fun to be around and gave clear, easy-to-follow directions. Lisa will do whatever she can to get the best shot– even crawling into a bush to capture us in the most flattering light! Lauren’s photos turned out so beautifully and Lauren and her parents had nothing but great things to say about working with Lisa!
Caitlyn Laughs, “After our first meeting, my fiance, Mason was even raving about her photos. Mason doesn’t care much about photos at all, or even like getting his picture taken! That’s what totally solidified things for me. I knew she was the one for us!”
She continues, “When I thought about my engagement and wedding photos, I knew I wanted them to be bright and colorful. One of the things that drew me to Lisa’s work was her use of color. I knew I wanted candid photos because those are the ones I’ll look at and remember those moments. Posed photos are great for some shots, but I feel like candid photos are when you can really feel the emotions and re-live the moment.”
Mason adds, “It was great working with Lisa for our engagement photos!” Lisa’s photos were immaculate! We wanted to capture our moments together, and we knew she had the artistic vision for it. I could tell that she cared about us having magical and special moments that we could cherish forever.”
Caitlyn summarizes, “Fast forward to our engagement session and it was so great to work with you again! We had a lot of fun during our session! I was surprised when Mason said he ENJOYED GETTING HIS PICTURE TAKEN! Thank you for capturing these memories for us, and the ‘family photos’ with our dog, Mia!”
Mini Golf Madness
Caitlyn smiles, “We decided to go mini golfing on our first date because Mason had told me many times he was Tiger Woods of mini golf, and I wanted him to prove it. I ended up winning, but Mason claims he let me win.”
Mason continues, “Mini golf has always been something we enjoyed doing. We are both competitive and enjoy spending time together, and mini golf allowed us to do both.”
Caitlyn adds, “It is our go-to date idea during the summer! We love that we can be competitive and still have a good time. I wanted to include it in our session because we have made a lot of memories mini-golfing.”
5/25/25 – The Cutest Date!
Caitlyn shares, “We met on Bumble a little over five years ago. I wasn’t really looking for a relationship at the time. I was just swiping on Bumble when I was bored. When Mason and I matched, we pretty much started texting every day right away. Pretty quickly I could tell that he was one of the good guys on the app. He always texted me good morning and always wanted to know about my day. His caring and kind personality is what made me first fall for him. He did (and still does) always try to do things that make me happy.”
Mason smiles, “I fell in love with Caitlyn’s genuine good heart and kindness. I love that Caitlyn is so caring, considerate of others, and family-oriented! We balance each other out. Caitlyn is more quiet and reserved, and I can be more loud and outgoing.”
Caitlyn adds, “What I love most about Mason is he is always trying to make me smile or laugh. Even when I’m mad or upset, he’ll do whatever he can to make me laugh or smile. He just always wants me to be happy. I think we work well together because we balance each other out. I’m the serious one, Mason is the fun one, and together we are the perfect mixture of both!”
She laughs, “One thing about Mason is he is not good at keeping secrets. The only thing about our engagement that was a surprise to me was the ring. Our engagement was still perfect though. Mason planned a short getaway to the beach. During the day, we went to the beach, played mini golf, and went out to eat. Around sunset, we returned to the beach and that’s when he proposed. It was so sweet and the sunset was beautiful!”
Getting Creative in Downtown Gettysburg
When walking downtown, I saw this window with the star-shaped lanterns in it. Of course, I had to capture the couple’s reflection in the window 🙂
Mason smiles, “I thought this photo was very creative and did not think it was going to turn out as well as it did. I think it really shows your creativity and ability to capture and see things other people don’t see.”
Caitlyn adds, “You are willing to do whatever it takes to get a great shot. I was shocked when you ran through the square in Gettysburg to get a shot of us from the middle of it! You are very creative and have an eye for unique shots. Most people wouldn’t walk past that window and think about taking a picture of their reflection in it. I wasn’t sure how the picture was going to turn out, but I also wasn’t surprised when you showed us and it looked great!”
Little Roundtop Gettysburg Engagement Photographer
Caitlyn says, “We wanted our engagement session to be fun and relaxed! Mason doesn’t like having his picture taken, so we don’t have a lot of photos of us together. I just wanted to use the session as a way to capture an important milestone in our lives and get some great pictures of us!”
Mason shares, “We picked Gettysburg because I think it has a romantic lore, and it reminds me of when we first started dating. It kind of felt like a full-circle moment. We went on a lot of dates in Gettysburg when we first started dating, and now we are about to be married!”
Caitlyn adds, “Gettysburg has always been special to us. During Covid, we would get takeout from restaurants and go to the park to eat. Now when we go, we like to walk around the town while we wait for a table to be ready at our favorite restaurants. I felt like there were a lot of great photo opportunities at Devil’s Den with the rocks and Little Round Top above it. Knowing that Devil’s Den was one of the deadliest locations during the Civil War, I excitedly told Mason ‘I hope there will be some ghosts in the pictures, haha!‘”
She continues, “I really like the fencing around the battlefields. I feel like it really represents the battlefields in Gettysburg. When you are driving towards/around Gettysburg, you know when you are at the battlefields because of the fencing. I don’t really know why I like it, I just do!”
Pretty Portraits too
While my focus is colorful, creative, custom-tailored photography, I also make sure to get flattering, well-composed, and lit photos of each couple in addition to those creative images, too.
Meet Mia!!
Caitlyn smiles, “There is no doubt that Mia is our baby! She is part of our family, so it was important for us to include her in our photos! I had no idea how Mia was going to do getting her picture taken. You were really patient with Mia and did what you could to try and get great shots of us with her! I was definitely the most excited to see the pictures with her!”
Mason continues, “We are so grateful you were able to capture our little family. It is special for us to have these photos. Even Mia was smiling in the photos!”

Stormy Skies in Twilight
The same light just different angles and camera settings.
Caitlyn says, “I think your silhouette photos are so cool! It captures both the people in the pictures and the colors of the sky and the one element doesn’t really take away from the other.”
I can’t decide! Which is better with or without the Mia photobomb?
Let me know your favorites in the comments below!
Mason smiles, “We are thankful that you were able to capture such an important moment in our lives!”
Caitlyn concludes, “It was so great getting to work with you again! We had a lot of fun during our session! I was surprised when Mason told me he actually enjoyed getting his picture taken! Thank you for capturing these memories for us!”
I loved working with Caitlyn and Mason (and Mia!) as their Gettysburg engagement photographer!
