JDK’s tasting event at Elizabeth Furnace was not only delicious but incredibly beautiful, creative, and filled with some of the most talented vendors and sweetest couples! It was my pleasure to visually capture the event both on video with my phone, and of course with my camera 😉

Colton smiles, “As a designer, I yearn for a photographer who has an eye for detail! Often, we as designers, put lots of effort into pieces that don’t always get noticed, yet Lisa does just that! So when I see that Lisa is the photographer for one of my upcoming weddings or events, I get so excited because she really knows how to capture the full scope of the day and help replay the story through her gorgeous work!”

Ashley adds “Working with Lisa for our group tasting event was an absolute pleasure! She beautifully documented everything from the delicious food to the laughter and engagement of the couples, she captured the true atmosphere of the event perfectly. We are incredibly grateful for Lisa’s talent and expertise.”

JDK Events: Florals

Tom Petty’s song Wildflowers was playing in the background upon arrival and it all felt so California to me. Having just arrived back from a hiking trip in Big Sur, I was like yaaaaas!! To see it all come together in such an organic environment made me so happy as an Elizabeth Furnace Wedding Photographer, too!!

Brooke says, “For this tasting event, we aimed to create a bright, fun, and airy environment that highlights our ability to think outside the box with colors and styling. The theme is a modern garden, with a focus on lavender and creamsicle tones. These colors have been trending on social media and are popular among our clientele, making them a perfect choice. The arrangements feature an organic and eclectic design, incorporating various heights, textures, and shapes to add a unique and elaborate touch. We love to walk the line between traditional and modern, giving our designs a new-age twist. Our goal was to bring the outdoors in, enhancing the garden vibe that Elizabeth Furnace offers.”

Brooke’s florals were phenomenal, every bloom so carefully selected and beautifully displayed!

JDK Catering: Unique, Creative, Aesthetic!

JDK Catering is such a perfect partner for me because they value uniqueness, playfulness, originality, and creativity, and their work is both tasty and beautiful! They are a dream to work with as an Elizabeth Furnace Wedding Photographer! They are creative, intelligent, kind and right on trend, from beautiful delicacies to exquisite arrangements, when I know my couple has hired JDK, I know this wedding will be aesthetic, on-trend, and that the whole team will be so easy to work with!

Colton shares, “We always aim to look at the current trends and put our own twist on it! While the Lilac and Peach tones are often seen separately in the wedding world, the new up-and-coming surge of lots of color in the wedding scene really helps to pull these new tones together. While you often see this color palette and bespoke style in more modern settings, we took our own twist on it and customized it to the venue canvas that we were hosting in. Elizabeth Furnace really plays into the rustic woodland vibes of their surroundings, and with that, we incorporated water hyacinth chargers, cheesecloth runners, aged metal garden gates, wooden rolling garden carts, and more to really bring this look full circle.”

Chef Jay: His Creations Tickle the Tastebuds!

Ashley says, “So much goes into every one of our tasting events, starting from the menu creation. Our team has several meetings to review each of our couple’s proposed menus for their wedding day. This includes making sure we are cognisant of any dietary restrictions or preferences. Our Executive Chef, Jay Varga, thoughtfully curates the final selection for the tasting and ensures each couple has the opportunity to sample beef, chicken, and fish options.”

They had a chance to taste, Chef Jay’s creations, firsthand, meet the staff up close, and understand what it meant to have this team in their corner!

Ashley shares, “Our group tastings are designed to offer our couples more than just a taste of our food. It’s about providing a firsthand experience of The JDK Group’s exceptional service, quality, and of course our award-winning catering. During these events, our couples also have a chance to interact with their Event Specialist, service team members, and culinary members who all play a part in making their wedding day experience one they will remember for a lifetime.”

She continues, “Each group tasting we produce is never the same. To ensure each tasting is different we incorporate a unique theme that’s designed by our talented in-house Floral & Design team. In their designs, they like to showcase a mock seating display, a sweetheart table, and even a ceremony set-up. We find this helps our couples envision their special day more vividly plus see options they might not have thought of before! We also love to partner with outside vendors, like Lisa and A to Z Event Rentals, allowing couples the opportunity to connect with additional vendors they may need for their big day.”

A to Z Events and Rentals

Colton says, “We opted to work with A to Z Event Rentals because they truly are ahead of the current wedding trends and really have unique table settings to take your look to the next level. Their expansive inventory really allows clients to mix and match and create their own look unique to them. Their flexibility and responsiveness set them apart in the rental world and look for any chance that we can get to collaborate together with their amazing team!”

Just desserts: Flaming Donuts!!

Ashley shares, “In addition to our typical menu items. We always ensure to include unexpected experiences to spark our clients’ imaginations and inspire their own wedding menu. One thing past clients and their guests have always raved about is our chef-tendered action stations. Since this tasting took place in February, we agreed we wanted to turn up the heat with our famous flaming donut station. This action station always adds a layer of excitement and creates memorable moments for our couples and our staff.”
