With all the feathers and sequins and with Karrie’s grandkids as bridesmaids and groomsmen, this Omni Bedford Springs Wedding is as unique as Carbon & Karrie and I’m so proud to be their Bedford Springs Wedding Photographer!
Why Rhinehart Photography?
Carbon and Karrie wanted a warm, friendly Bedford Springs wedding photographer with a creative eye and a fun approach and style.
Carbon shares, “We LOVE Lisa’s work and had our hearts set on having Lisa photograph our wedding day, but she was already booked for our date when we reached out. She had a creative idea: have her associate, Jim photograph our wedding day, and have a pre-wedding photo shoot at the Omni with Lisa in our wedding attire. We were able to get all of our couple’s romantic photos completed before the wedding with Lisa, it was so much fun and a great idea. We used the pictures on the wedding day in so many ways to personalize and decorate our space. It also freed us up to enjoy so much more time with our wedding guests. It was seriously the best of both worlds!”
My associate, Jim, is a photography friend that I met at a conference over a decade ago. We have photographed dozens of weddings together. He has a similar style and approach, being caring and client-focused, a driven, highly-skilled photojournalist with hundreds of weddings under his belt. He and I spent years neck and neck competing for #1 wedding photographer in Pennsylvania! He’s even held my rope as I dangled 20 feet in the air rock climbing! I trust this dude. Jim even managed to get a couple of his own portraits for Carbon & Karrie in the Omni Bedford Springs Grotto on the day of, too!
Grandkids in the Bridal Party
Karrie shares, “My previous husband passed away, but I remain very close to his grandkids. Carbon and I decided to ask all of the grandkids to be in the wedding. They were happy to be a part of our special day and it was such a pleasure to have them there!”
Carbon & Karrie’s Story
Carbon smiles, “I was on my way to New York for a new job and I wanted a place to crash— my brother told me about Karrie and her farm, and once my brother asked her, she had no problem with me staying. Once there, I fell in love with the farm and Karrie! I never did make it to that New York job.”
Karrie adds, “Whether we were driving around the United States or at home on the farm we had so much fun together. I love Carbon’s sense of humor and that he is always so happy and fun. We love spending our time together and really enjoyed planning a fun, unique wedding with many personalized details.”
Carbon continues, “I love Karrie’s complete and blatant honesty, I love her deep compassion for all living things (even those to which she’s allergic), I love her zest for life – which is matched only by her amazing sense of humor and razor-sharp wit. I love every second I spend with my wife- she really does love the real me, and that feels amazing.”
He recalls, “It was a very emotional day for both of us to finally marry our soulmates. We wrote our own vows. A friend even traveled from Maine to marry us.”
Historic on the Bedford Springs group photos
Karrie smiles, “The Omni is a special place for us as we went there on our first outing as friends, and then spent our first romantic weekend as a couple there as well. We knew our wedding had to be at the Omni!”
If you’ve been to the Omni in Bedford Springs, you’ve probably noticed all these group portraits in black-and-white throughout, I thought, even though I have plenty of vibrant, purple ones included in their set, having at least one that looks very traditional, like this would be a cool nod to the Omni in Bedford Springs, especially since it happens to be the location of their first official romantic getaway!
Karrie is all about photography and the details!
I loved the wedding day timeline that Karrie created and how she incorporated so many of their pre-wedding photos into the wedding details.
Carbon laughs, “Karrie loves purple! Everything was some shade of purple for the wedding. I love purple too, and Karrie said she loved my purple tuxedo jacket and purple shoes!”
Husband and wife!
Everyone seemed so tickled to see these two as husband and wife even the smallest baby!
This takes the cake!
The couple smiles, “We are very extra— so we designed a half chocolate, half vanilla cake with chocolate-covered strawberries.”
Carbon says, “Being from Pittsburgh and an avid baker, Karrie planned an amazing cookie table. She baked most of the cookies herself, traveling around baking with family members and teaching her grandkids to bake. She purchased some cookies from professional bakers as well including peach cookies, a staple of the wedding cookie table. The Omni staff said it was the best cookie table they had ever hosted!”
Let’s get this party started!
Karrie shares, “We picked out all the music together and were so happy to be surrounded by friends and family! They came from California, Virginia, Florida, Kentucky, Maine, Arizona as well as locally. We felt surrounded by love. What a celebration!”
Getting goofy
Carbon and Karrie say, “We both love pictures and selfies. We created a selfie room with mirrors, a backdrop, and props for fun.”
Karrie laughs, “Carbon’s brother Steve joined Carbon on the dance floor in a funny hat and chains.”
At the End of the Night
They smile, “Everyone agreed it was the most fun wedding and we were the happiest bride and groom. It’s easy to be happy when you marry the love of your life!”
Karrie share, “We loved having the grandkids dance with us, they all danced around us in a circle. It was very special!”
Congratulations Carbon & Karrie!! Thanks so much for having us as your Bedford Springs Wedding Photographer!
