This heartfelt backyard wedding united two families from different parts of the world, featured bilingual vows, and was blessed by a good luck rain shower—all while a beloved family dog stood by as witness– so proud to be a Central PA Award-Winning Wedding Photographer and get to witness heartwarming acts of love, like this!
Why Rhinehart Photography?
Andrea shares, “I was truly moved by the way Lisa captured everything! I knew the photos would be special, but I was surprised by how perfectly she captured the emotions of the day. When I first saw the photos, they brought tears to my eyes, allowing me to feel all the love, joy, and connection we felt on that day.”
She continues, “What I appreciate most about the photos is how they reflect not just the big moments but also the small, intimate ones. They remind me of how everyone (my family traveling from other parts of the world to Nate’s family) all came together to make it all possible.”
Nate smiles, “My wife is much more elegant and poetic with her words than I am… What surprised me the most about Lisa’s photography was the unique ways she captured our memories. She’s like a ninja moving around trying to find the most creative and beautiful angles to capture a unique shot.”
He continues, “The wedding photos make me happy. They will be a lasting memory of the most important day of my life. I don’t take many pictures. So what I appreciate the most is having all these amazing photos to go back and look at.”
Andrea says, “To couples considering hiring Lisa as their backyard wedding photographer, I would say do it! She has a gift for making even the simplest moments feel magical and truly knows how to capture not just the event but the emotions behind it. For anyone looking to have an intimate wedding, especially in a backyard, she will make you feel like you are in the most special place on earth!”
Nate adds, “For those potential customers… hire her. Lisa is so kind, compassionate, and creative.”
Happy Tears
Andrea recalls, “During the vows, I was overwhelmed with emotion. I could hardly contain my tears because I felt such deep love and gratitude for Nate and our families. I promised to always stand by him, to embrace our future together with open hearts, and to honor the love we share.”
Vows in Spanish
Andrea smiles, “Nate’s vows in Spanish were one of the most special parts of the day for me. He had been practicing Spanish on Duolingo since we started dating and he did it because he wanted to connect with my family. That just shows how much my family and my culture mean to him. The fact that he put so much effort into speaking in Spanish touched me deeply. It was PERFECTO!”
Nate shares, “I have continued my lessons (400+ day streak on Duolingo) so that I can better communicate with Andrea and her family. I look forward to the conversations I will someday have with her mom, dad, and siblings!”
Noticing the Little Things
Andrea shares, “The little moments you captured are some of my favorites. Even my beautiful flower girl, Kate, playing with a ladybug during the reception added a sense of magic and innocence to the day. Those moments, that I didn’t even notice at the time, seeing them in the photos made me smile. They remind me of the small, beautiful things that happen when we’re caught up in the moment.”
Nate adds, “I loved seeing all those little things as well. I was very focused on my vows, my wife, the ceremony, the weather forecast, and all the other events planned for the remainder of the day. Seeing those photos helped me to appreciate the bigger picture of the day, family and friends coming together. I also love that you captured, Pearl, our dog!”
Husband and Wife!
Andrea smiles, “We met six years ago while working at the farm, and we stayed in touch as friends for a long time. We didn’t start dating until last year. After only six months of being together, he proposed, and it just felt right… Our relationship grew from a foundation of friendship, and that made the transition into something more so natural and special. I think we fell in love because we already knew and trusted each other, and when we started dating, everything clicked into place. It felt like we were meant to take that next step together.
She continues, “I appreciate Nate’s patience, his dedication to making our relationship work, and how he always makes me feel supported. I think he loves my sense of humor, my patience, and how much I value family. As a married couple, I’m most excited about continuing to build our life together, creating more memories, and facing whatever comes our way with love, patience, and supporting each other.”
Nate laughs, “I can be very annoying, and stubborn, and my mind is always all over the place. I really appreciate her patience and how understanding she is as I can only imagine how hard I can be to deal with at times. As Andrea said, our friendship was the foundation of our relationship. I am looking forward to continuing that friendship and spending the rest of my life with my best friend, and wife.”
Their Beautiful Backyard!
Nate laughs, “I never imagined when purchasing this home, the hours of work needed to take back control of a jungle of a yard, and upgrading the patio and landscaping that I would be using this space for my wedding!!”
He continues, “When Andrea first threw out the idea of using our backyard, I absolutely loved it. We never even considered another venue. My years of hard work would pay off for our special day, but so much more needed to be done in a short time once we made our decision. It was amazing how both of our families and our friends pitched in in the weeks leading up to the wedding to help out. We couldn’t have never made such a beautiful day happen without all the helping hands.”
Andrea adds, “Our backyard wedding was a true family effort, and that’s what made it so special. It was held at our home, which made everything feel so personal and close to our hearts.”
She shares, “Mariia, my maid of honor, did all the beautiful flower arrangements, bouquets, and decorations. Jill, my mother-in-law, helped so much with organizing the day, and she, along with Addie and Eli (my new niece and nephew), put their hearts into creating the souvenirs. The rain on the day of the wedding didn’t bother us at all; we felt it was a sign of good luck, just like everyone said! My father-in-law officiated the ceremony, which was a deeply personal touch, and my older nephew stepped in as the translator. Having family come from Colombia, Mexico, and Texas, making that big effort, and seeing everyone work together to make our day special was unforgettable.”
Lucky Ducks!
Andrea shares, “We are unique in that we come from two different cultures and managed to blend them in a way that felt natural and special on our wedding day. Nat’s mother walked down the aisle (as we do in Colombian weddings), Nate’s vows in Spanish, the rain shower that everyone said brought us good luck and our beloved dog Pearl being part of the ceremony are all standout moments. Our wedding was full of personal touches.”
Nate continues, “We are certainly a unique couple growing up 2000 miles (3218 kilometers for the Colombians) apart, meeting at a random farm in Pennsylvania, and falling in love. Our wedding day was an amazing mix of American and Colombian traditions. It was a perfect day even though not everything went according to our plans. ‘Cloudy with a chance of rain, but love forecasted forever'”.
