Why Rhinehart Photography?

Jess says, “Lisa was such an integral part during our wedding. From the time she arrived to the time she left, she was nothing short of spectacular. She helped us stay on our timeline, which really created a seamless and stress-free day to focus on each other. Hire Lisa if you want an artist to facilitate and capture the day. Investing in Rhinehart photography was one of our best decisions for our wedding day!”

It’s the Little Things…

Jess smiles, “I feel like at our wedding we brought all of our loved ones into a glimpse of what our snow days at home look like. All of the candles lit, music playing, good food and drinks, and just enjoying each other and watching the snow fall. It’s truly a magical experience to be able to slow life down and appreciate nature changing and evolving with it.”

Elizabeth Furnace Winter Wedding Preparations

Time to shine! I loved Jess’s joyful vibes, the excitement of everyone around her, and her deadazzled boots!

How much does her venue in the background look like the watercolor on her invitation?  I noticed this and made sure to incorporate it into her photos!

Their Secret: Respect, Openness, and Understanding

Jess smiles, “Joe and I have an inseparable bond. From the first meeting to now, nearly 5 years later, our relationship is something so centered in respect, openness, and understanding.  All of our friends and family always tell us that our love for one another is inspiring and obvious.”

A Moment Alone

There was a moment in their day when I could tell they could use some time alone, I adjusted the schedule accordingly because above all else, it is *their day* and I *honor them*.  At the end of that time, I took a few shots of them holding hands, snuggling on the couch to memorialize that for them, and even caught a cute portrait by the window light.

Jess says, “Joe and I pave our way how WE want to. We do not follow traditions or norms. We do not feel pressured to please others. We are kind to everyone and accept everyone as they are and where they are in their journey, and we have built our relationship in just that.”

She adds, “Joe and I have always found a way to see what makes sense now and makes sense for us instead of thinking tradition should be maintained in perpetuity even though all of those ideas or reasons surrounding it are no longer.”

Group Photos are so In Vogue

Something a lot of my clients request is Annie Leibovitz-styled Vogue/GQ portraits.

We did this both for the wedding party and family members! It was so fun!

Classic Ceremony: Elizabeth Furnace Wedding Photographer Lititz

Jess shares, “We chose Elizabeth Furnace because the grounds and buildings were all so very unique. You hear ‘barn’ and your mind immediately draws to country rustic, which is not our style. However,  once arriving, you are transported to a private, romantic, and historic site like nothing you’ve ever seen before. We knew straight away that this was our location for our special day.

She continues, “As soon as I walked into the ceremony building, I looked at Joe and said, ‘This is where I want your father to walk me to you.’ The rest was history.”

I love working at Elizabeth Furnace— it’s such a gorgeous space! You can see more of Elizabeth Furnace here in my Top 25 Central PA Wedding Venues.

Two Photographers, Two Perspectives

How cool is this… This is the exact same moment from two different perspectives!

Here, I photographed ‘the kiss’ crouching down behind the couple, I wanted to capture the parents’ reactions and allow people to really “feel” the moment up close.

Playing with Motion Blur and Perspective

I love to play around with different settings on my camera and different visual aesthetics.

Here I’m using the leading lines from the barn and candles, then the door of the barn to frame them as they take a second kiss.

Why a Winter Wedding?

Jess smiles, “We chose a winter wedding because over the years of us dating, we have made such a big deal out of our snow days. If we see snow in the forecast, it is always a whole plan. We play board games and snuggle our puppies. Pick a hearty, soul-nourishing new recipe from beef stew to chicken pot pies, complete with a dessert and specialty crafted cocktails. It’s always our favorite time of year!

Joe adds, “Jess does such a great job decorating every corner of our house in festive Christmas decor, string lights, and candles. Every winter is a vibe in our house.”

Rings are there, the knot is officially tied
Ah slow shutter speed again for the win. I panned with the couple so they would be in focus while the rest is blurred to show the motion (and emotion ;))

Details: Elizabeth Furnace Wedding Photographer Lititz

Jess says, “Everything from wedding planning to execution was what we wanted with zero obligation. Didn’t want cake, so there wasn’t one. Didn’t want organized dances, didn’t have them, and the list just went on and on. Ultimately, it was what our guests commented on the most of how unique the entire day was from the grand entrance to the Alpine and European curated menu. The guests were in awe of the build-your-own perogies station that even the caterer said they had never done.”

Traditions: Elizabeth Furnace Wedding Photographer Lititz

Jess recalls, “I loved experiencing such a romantic evening with all of our loved ones. For many of our relatives, it was their first time meeting each other, and it was just beautiful to watch unfold all of these new friendships.”

She adds, “For me, it was such an amazing experience having my siblings all together in the same room. We’ve always been so close and with life and age have been separated by several states, and all being back together was incredible and so fun, not a beat was skipped over all those years apart, we were all right back to who we’ve always been to one another and for one another.”

It was essential for me to capture the lighting here. All of those candles that Jess loves, the vibe of winter candlelight. I used my flash sparingly to preserve that aesthetic.

I wanted the candlelight vibe to extend throughout the reception, especially during their first dance. If you notice all the warm tones and even their guests watching from the tables, you will see that. I love how Joe is singing to Jess here.

Dancefloor: Elizabeth Furnace Wedding Photographer Lititz

Jess laughs, “Joe and I have such a wide difference in age group and personalities among our guest list, which we thought would make the DJ set selection difficult.  However, DJ Puff, with Mixed Up Productions, even complimented us on our diverse taste in music as well as the idea of saving the first dance for after dinner and progressing straight to the wedding party joining, then the guests. DJ Puff laughed and told me that I was a wedding pioneer and he would now recommend this new structure to future couples.”

Surprise Invitation to Mix

People had such a blast on the dance floor, especially when Jess started mixing some beats 😉

Haaaaaa the look on Jess’ face when the DJ told her she would be the one mixing next!
She pulled it off! The crowd went wild!
Such a fun moment– go Jess, go DJ puff!

Welcome to the Family

Jess shares, “My sister, Annie, and I have been through so much together, and she was my rock growing up, and things were not easy. I lost a lot of really important people to me at a young age, and we would cry together and listen to ‘How Do I’ by LeAnn Rimes on repeat, and we always said if we got married one day, we would dance to it. It was a true experience of unconditional and unwavering love that all those years later we actually danced to it.”

It was so sweet that Jess and her sister danced together to “How Do I” and invited Joe in.

At the End of the Night

Congratulations, Jess and Joe! I so loved your wedding day. Thanks for inviting me to be your Elizabeth Furnace Wedding Photographer!

I noticed the moon on my way out, what a perfect ending to this winter wedding

Quite obviously this photographer knows exactly what they’re doing. The couple look amazing, their wedding party is stunning, and they captured every moment that even Hallmark would have been jealous of. These pictures are absolutely amazing. It’s perfect how they were able to capture the emotion of the day!

    1. Hallmark definitely has nothing on this whole day!!! I know Jess took her time with every detail of their wedding to have it just the way they want and so unique from start to finish. She absolutely loved the photograph when they had their first meeting and she sure did not disappoint at all and her team. Also, how well she work with the videographer amazinggg!!!

  3. OMG they are a Hallmark Holiday Movie, but so much better b/c Jess & Joe are *the real deal*. Their love is palpable, they are true to themselves and so smitten with each other. What a joy it was for me to be there and capture this for them!

  4. Incredible from the people who tied the know to the people who made it happen! Top notch work and amazing photos! Thank you for making it perfect!
