Petal-tossing joy, cat-themed charm and the wildest curls on the bride and groom—this couple’s wedding was full of heart, humor, and everything I adore about being a Documentary Style NJ Wedding Photojournalist!
Capturing YOUR Personality: Documentary Style Wedding Photography
Sarah shares, “Before starting my wedding prep, I was looking through photographer vendors on The Knot, and I was awestruck by a certain someone’s photos. They captured the essence of happiness, excitement, and sentimentality. The raw emotions shown in the images intrigued me since I wanted something different than the standard sit-right-here-and-smile pictures. If you are looking for someone who is inspired, confident, jovial, and compassionate, go with Rhinehart Photography! You won’t regret it at all!”
Dominic adds, “What I loved about the experience was how effortless all the different shots were and the transitions between sequences in the church, by the limos, outside the venue, and throughout the day. It was evident that the photographers were experienced, and it made what can be a very stressful day easier.”
Emotion in a Traditional Church Wedding: NJ Wedding Photojournalist
Dominic shares, “The Church, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, was the perfect place to get married; the church was beautiful, and seeing all my friends and family gather for this monumental event had me overwhelmed with emotion. Standing at the altar, seeing my wife-to-be walking down the aisle in her amazing dress after all the hard work and preparation she did for this day is something I will never forget.”
Catholic Wedding Ceremony: NJ Wedding Photographer
Sarah laughs, “My veil was being a meanie panini that day. It didn’t want to stay on and just KNEW it was so whimsical and ethereal it needed to float away with the wind! I loved its sparkle and thought it complemented my dress beautifully. It may not have wanted to stay on, but when it did, it was a free-flowing spirit.”
She adds, “The church was built in the late 19th century, and the exterior is what drew me to it. It reminded me of something from a fairytale!”
Husband and Wife: Documentary Style NJ Wedding Photojournalist
Sarah smiles, “Dominic is someone who makes me feel safe. It’s almost like I’m the princess with a knightly prince who’s always at the ready to protect! He never judges me or questions my feelings on things. It is comfortable being around him, which is something in general I don’t feel with a lot of others. I can picture us having a little homestead with a lot of animals, especially cats, one day!”
Dominic continues, “When I’m with Sarah, everything is effortless, our understanding of each other and our needs is unlike anyone else I’ve ever met. No one else can make me smile and warm my heart like she does. I knew she was the one early on because of how much we had in common and how easy it was to be around her – nothing was forced, and we could truly be ourselves with each other.”
Classic Catholic Wedding: NJ Photojournalist
Sarah says, “What was I most excited about experiencing on my wedding day? The pictures, to be honest! I knew the food was good after a taste test and that my vision would be met, but I just wanted to have a blast posing and using the spaces creatively!”
Color and Creativity: Best NJ Wedding Photographers
Sarah smiles, “I loved the transportation and the spectacular service that Santos VIP Limos gave us! The old school Rolls-Royce was such a fun ride! My parents and I all fit, and the driver was hilarious. He even rolled out a red carpet once we arrived at the church!”
She adds, “My inspiration for my flowers was to have them as springlike and whimsical as possible. I found someone who enjoys doing the Japanese Ikebana style, and I expressed how I wanted to give off a fairytale garden vibe. The colors were so incredibly vibrant! I am getting them pressed and preserved! I felt that they captured that fun-loving, springtime essence of a new beginning!”
Romantic, Classic with a Bit of Edge
It’s all in the details: Look for CATS!
Dominic shares, “What’s unique about us is our love of animals and how we met volunteering at a cat shelter– we made sure to highlight that throughout our wedding day.”
Sarah continues, “The incorporation of the tiny bronze cat statuettes in different poses was a cute homage to our story.”
Making an Entrance: Palace at Somerset Park Wedding Photographer
Dominic recalls, “I loved our introduction on the balcony on our wedding day and the subsequent dance. The dance lessons and preparation for the moment were all worth it, and sharing that time with our guests was unforgettable.”
Classic Wedding Traditions: NJ Documentary Wedding Photographer
Sarah says, “We selected the Palace at Somerset Park initially due to its proximity to Dominic’s family. Most of his family resides in the area or close by, and since my family is small and not from the United States, I wanted to make his side feel considered in the planning process.”
She continues, “I looked at the grounds of the building, and when I went into the West Hall, I was hooked! The beautiful brown hues of walnut and maple wood made me feel like I stepped into a beloved old library. It was cozy but also large, inviting but also grand. It suited the fairytale/whimsical aesthetic!“
Bring Out the Band! NJ Wedding Photojournalists
Dominic shares, “Our wedding ceremony venue, Palace at Somerset Park, was simply stunning! It was surreal being there with my new beautiful wife and experiencing the day with her and through her with every twirl she made on the dancefloor and every picture we took together. Whether it was a candid or a pose, I could tell she was living out her dream, and I’m lucky to be able to experience that with her.”
At The End of the Night
Sarah laughs, “By the end of the night, I just wanted to sleep (LOL). Grooms are lucky they can just show up, but my bridal day started entirely too early! I wanted to tuck myself into bed, especially since the next day we flew to Sicily for our honeymoon.”
Dominic recalls, “Every detail at the venue, from the cars to the florals to the artist and photo booth, added to what was an illustrious night. By the end of it, we were both very tired! It was a long day, physically and emotionally, and starting our honeymoon right after was incredible.”
