🚲 As a DC NGA photographer, I love when couples bring their everyday adventures into their engagement photos. Lauren and Nick explored DC together and finished their session with a Capital Bikeshare ride!

They smile, “We met and fell in love in DC and are so excited to be getting married here. The backdrop of the Capitol, the gorgeous museums, and the livable urbanism of DC are all things we love and reasons we call the District home.”

Lauren says, “I love Nick’s large soccer jersey collection! I also love Nick’s natural curiosity and zest for life, and I feel so lucky to get to be his partner on so many adventures. Nick always knows how to make me laugh and smile, and I’m so grateful to spend my life with Nick.”

DC NGA Photographer: the Perfect Location

The National Gallery of Art is such a cool place to photograph, especially for engagement sessions! Not only is it so DC with the stunning architecture, but it also has views of iconic DC hot spots like the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building, which are visible from the stairs!

Capital Bikeshare: Why they wanted to include bikes

They share, “Nick is a very on-the-go person, and loves taking every free moment to be active around DC. Lauren is also an adventurous spirit, but prefers to spend a bit more time at home. Nevertheless, as is characteristic, Lauren has not only joined Nick for many excursions, but done so with enthusiasm.

“We bike almost everywhere because it’s often the easiest way to get from point A to point B, but also because it represents the spirit of adventure that courses through our relationship.”

Nick & Lauren say, “The vibe we wanted for our engagement photos is loving, but also not taking ourselves too seriously. Also, on the move in the city!”
