Liberty Mountain Resort Photographer: Mary & Jackson

Mary and Jackson met as 14-year-old kids and are still going strong, from being almost 4 hours away in college, to a pandemic, this team is built to last! I am so happy that being a Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding Photographer brought these cuties into my orbit! So many more pics to come, these are just a few!

Mary & Jackson share, “Lisa is very personable. She made us both feel comfortable and able to be ourselves and enjoy our day. She gave great instructions and ideas without being pushy in any way. It felt fun, more like a game than a formal photo shoot.”

They add, “Her timeline was awesome and really helped us enjoy the day. We didn’t feel rushed or like we were missing anything at all!  We were most impressed by her creative shots and angles!”

There’s Something about Mary (and Jackson)

Mary laughs, “Jackson and I started dating at the age of 14, and were long-distance until we were 22. We lived about an hour and a half away from each other in high school, and then we were about three and a half hours away throughout college, which also included the pandemic.”

Classic Couple: Liberty Mountain Resort

Mary giggles, “We also have a pet bunny named Mae Mae who is spoiled rotten! We are a classic example of opposites attracting — I’m a history person who is more creative and loves crochet and reading, while Jackson is a science person who is more logic-driven and prefers video games and logic puzzles.”

She adds, “We are both homebodies who prefer a night in binging a show and playing video games than being in crowded bars (but we do love a good brewery or winery).”

Mary’s Love Story

Mary smiles, “When I’m with Jackson, I feel whole. No one else can make me feel so accepted and safe like Jackson. I fell for Jackson when I first met him (at the ripe old age of 13!). I knew Jackson was “the one” when we were both going through tough times in life when it would have been easier to push each other away, but it made us closer.”

She continues, “I loved experiencing EVERYTHING on our wedding day together, but special recognition for our first look, dinner (decompressing), and the cake. I loved experiencing dancing all night to the perfect playlist with our guests. I can picture us happy with a family (and a couple of pets) in the future.”

Jackson’s Love Story: First Look Liberty Mountain Resort

Jackson lights up, “When I’m with Mary, I feel safe. There is no one else who makes me feel the way that Mary does, just by being in the same room as her. I fell for Mary when we were just two young, dumb goofballs. I knew Mary was “the one” when time seemed to stop when we were together.”

He adds, “Even now, after almost 12 years together, there is not another feeling that can replicate what I feel when she walks in the door. I loved experiencing the exchanging of rings on our wedding day together. I have never worn any jewelry of any kind, but there has not been a day since that I have not loved putting on my wedding band, looking at it on my hand, and remembering everything about the night of our wedding and everything I love about Mary.”

Photojournalist or Portrait Photographer?

I love both and am both! These guys wanted authentic, fun, real moments that captured the personalities and character of each other and all of their loved ones! We stopped for several portraits here and there, like this one, but their main priority was definitely enjoying the day and taking it all in, which we did and more!

This is one of the reasons why I love being a Liberty Mountain Resort wedding photographer. There are so many locations, so many spots for privacy, or gathering groups, so much beautiful scenery throughout the year. This is definitely one of my favorite places to photograph couples! Liberty Mountain Resort Fall Wedding Ceremony

I know most photographers park in the middle aisle during the ceremony, so that they don’t miss a shot.  While I may station the second photographer there just in case, during the ceremony itself, I run around like a little ninja!

I run around trying to capture all the emotion and happenings for the couple, their guests, and so much more! Here are just a few shots!

I don’t come in with a checklist, but an eye for emotion, beauty and care for my couples, I’m a member of team “best day ever” and give them all of my insider tips from photographing hundreds of weddings, so that they can be able to prioritize spending time where it’s most important to them!

Golf Course Shenanigans: Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding Photographer

The Newlyweds share, “It was a lot of fun enjoying time on the golf course at Liberty Mountain as Newlyweds. We liked, especially after the ceremony, being able to get away and have time just the two of  us.”

“Reflecting” on a Perfect Day!

They add, “ Lisa was so fun and creative! We were amazed at the pictures of us in the reflection of the pond on the course!”

They laugh, “We also loved when Lisa defended us from a guy on the golf course projecting his marital insecurities on us. She wouldn’t stand for any of that!!!”

Why a Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding?

The happy couple shared, “We chose Liberty Mountain because it was everything we needed for the wedding. We had a welcome reception the night before the wedding after our rehearsal dinner. They have a beautiful ready room for the bride and bridesmaids. There were plenty of spaces the groom and groomsmen could hangout — and play games.”

They added, “The guests were able to stay on site at an affordable rate & guests could play golf on their course while waiting for the festivities to begin. We also had a farewell brunch the morning after.  The staff was also very communicative and helpful through the entire process! The food is also AMAZING!!”

Bubble-Gun for the Win!

Oh my goodness, a bubble-gun,  “shot” by the ring bearer created this magical entrance for Mary and Jackson. I love it so much. It’s one of my favorite photos. It just shows all the love, joy, support and celebration for this happy couple!”

Dancing the Night Away!

Jackson smiles, “I loved experiencing dancing with our guests. We knew that our friends and family were a rowdy bunch, but even into the late hours of the night everyone was still singing and dancing like there was no tomorrow!
