Capturing milestone celebrations like Morgan’s Sweet 16 at The Palace at Somerset Park is always an honor and part of why I love being one of the best Sweet 16 Photographers. With garden details, heartfelt (and fun) traditions, and a stunning venue, this celebration was the perfect way to mark Morgan’s Sweet Sixteen!

Meet Morgan!
Morgan is a kind, fun, passionate girl who loves cheerleadering, shopping, her friends, and family. I’m so honored she chose me to photograph her Sweet 16. Morgan’s family actually found me years ago when they were looking for a photographer for her older sister’s Sweet 16!
Morgan shares, “3 years ago when it was my sister’s 16 sweet my mom really wanted Lisa as the photographer but she was already booked for the date. Luckily, when it came to be my time, mom reached out ahead of time and Lisa was available. My experience with Lisa was amazing. I felt comfortable and confident when taking the pictures and she was so kind to me and my friends.”

Her Sweet 16 Court
Morgan smiles, “I have a close group of 10 girlfriends, some I have known longer than others. Gigi and Bella are my closest friends that mean the most to me. Gigi and I have been friends since 1st grade since our older sisters were friends. And I met Bella in 6th grade, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. All my other girlfriends, Talia, Sydney, Ava, Bella, Phi, Erin, and Ally, also mean the world to me. I met the rest of them more recently but still it feels like I’ve known them all forever.”
Cocktails at The Palace at Somerset Park
Morgan says, “All the food and drinks were from The Palace. Cocktail hour was my favorite part as far as food. There was every single kind of food I could imagine which gave my guests a wide variety to choose from. There was something for everyone, from pizza to sushi!”
“For dinner, I chose Caesar salad, steak, and mashed potatoes. This was an easy decision for me because these are all my favorite foods and I knew you couldn’t go wrong with them as options! Overall, The Palace at Somerset Park was the best place I could have chose, best workers, prettiest venue, and the best food.”

Sweet Sixteen Traditions
Morgan shares, “My court ‘s entrance and the candle lighting ceremony were the most important to me. The walkouts were a way to get everyone excited and laughing while being able to incorporate the people that mean the most to me.”
I have Morgan’s entrance here, check out the slideshow (below) to see more entrances. All are featured in the full gallery which will be live in a week!
Candle Lighting Ceremony: Best Sweet 16 Photographers
Morgan smiles, “The candle lighting ceremony was a way to give my thanks and appreciation to all the people that have made me who I am today.”
Dancing the Night Away: Palace at Somerset Park Photographers
The dance floor was so fun! Morgan shares, “Mr. Brightside was my favorite song, another favorite is Piano Man. Mr. Brightside is like me and my friends song, and Piano Man is more of my family’s song, as my aunt always plays her harmonica along with the song. “ (More on the harmonica soon!)
Air Gun: Best Sweet 16 Photographers
Morgan smiles, “The air gun isn’t really a sweet 16 tradition, but it was a fun element to add!”
Inside Joke
Morgan laughs, “It’s a long story, but my friend Sophia had a school project that involved a fake baby, which somehow ended up at my house. The rest of my friends and I brought it to my aunt’s house without Sophia knowing, and the head ended up getting ripped off. We lost it at first so when we left we had a headless baby!”
“And then when my aunt walked in at my Sweet 16 she brought the baby head for Sophia. It was just so funny and people incorporated it into the dance floor!”
Harmonica solo: Piano Man
Morgan smiles, “At most family events, especially Sweet 16’s, my Aunt Courtney brings her harmonica to play to Piano Man. It’s just a special song to me as I always hear it, it’s also very impressive that my aunt knows it all and how to play it. It just added a nice touch of family to my event, because they are such an important part in my life.”
At the Top of the World
Morgan says, “The balcony was really fun, me and some of my cousins and aunts were up there!”
At the end of the night
Morgan shares, “I’m happy you ended up capturing the big group photo at the end of the night!”
“I am so beyond happy with the experience I had with Lisa, thank you again!!!”
