As a PA family photographer, one of my favorite things is creating unique imagery that captures the essence of each individual family. When Sheila & Mike reached out about updating their family photos at Greencastle Golf Club, I knew it would be a perfect fit. This beautiful setting isn’t just a backdrop for them. It’s part of their everyday life. Between busy schedules filled with dance, golf, and travel, and family activities, they wanted photos that captured not only what this season of life looks like, but what it feels like, too.
The result was an evening full of laughter, meaningful moments, and one incredible sunset….

Why Rhinehart Photography?
Sheila shares, “Lisa’s work is unique, creative, and invokes so much emotion when looking at her photos. She has this ability to capture a moment and make it feel alive, as if you are in that very moment.”
“I loved working with Lisa for our wedding and was so excited to work with her again. Next to marrying Mike, Lisa was the second-best decision I made about my wedding day!”
Mike says, ” I love Lisa. I love what she did for her family. I love what she did for our wedding — capturing not just Sheila and I, but our kids, our family, and all of our friends that I came out to celebrate us.”
Meet the family
They are an active family of four! From dance practice to golf outings and so much more, they have a very busy schedule! Greencastle Golf Course is actually in their neighborhood, so this place means a lot to them.
My Secret to Great Family Photos: Part 1
- Mix posed photos with fun activities, like golf, for this family!
- Move! You’ll notice plenty of movement in these photos, whether it’s the girls doing a back handspring or Mike driving the golf cart. Movement is fun and makes for natural, candid, real photos.
- Have ideas: Sheila shared with me before this session that she would love photos on the golf cart and of the girls putting. Knowing this ahead of time meant everyone was on the same page, and I could make sure to capture those shots for her!
- Go with the flow: I always have a timeline to work off of, but I also allow room to breathe and follow the flow of the family. If everyone is feeling “done” in one area, it’s time to pivot and try something new!
Part 2: Have Fun
Have fun, embrace individual personalities and inside jokes– what makes you you! This is what you’ll want to remember in family heirlooms, not just what people looked like, but how it felt to be a part of this young family!
Why Greencastle Golf Club?
Sheila shares, “I was feeling a bit stuck on finding the ‘perfect’ spot. I’ve had a long wish list in mind (water, open sky, an organic/natural backdrop), but then something clicked. While walking through our neighborhood at sunset, I realized the golf course right in our backyard might actually be the perfect setting to capture our family.”
Part 3: Create Meaningful Memories
I used this time for the family to say some of the things they appreciated most about their girls. It’s really sweet to see how they each took all the compliments!
Part 4: Save the Challenging Poses for the End
Once you guys are feeling like total pros, that is when I bring in the tough stuff... check out these posing skills! Models!
Love, energy, and the beautiful sunset
Sheila says, “Our family session was so incredible. We had a great time! It was laid-back, fun, and we were just being ourselves. Mike was in his element on the golf course! Lisa’s eye just captures all of the perfect angles and the right spots. We are so grateful.”
Thoughts about their wedding album
Every wedding package includes a custom, heirloom-quality wedding album. I want my clients to have something that can become a part of their family history, no matter how technology changes through the years. I want them to have archival-quality artwork that they can touch and experience with all of their senses. For them, their family, and the generations to follow.
I carefully distill hundreds of digital files into a tangible book. I personally custom-design the albums to tell their unique stories. During a design consult, my clients get to make any changes they’d like before we send it off to print. There are so many different cover options from Italian leather with iron branding, to Japanese silk with a cameo cut out, to gold foil on Vegan linen… and in dozens of beautiful colors, too!
Mike shares about their wedding album, “I couldn’t have put it together better myself (I never would’ve even tried first and foremost), all the way from the cover, to the etching in the leather, to the centerfolds — everything about the album was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”
