Sometimes love is about being at the right place at the right time. They shared that they didn’t even know a love like this existed! It was an honor to be at Riverview Barn and be an award-winning equestrian farm wedding photographer.

Dayna shares, “Lisa made everything feel comfortable and easy. I also felt so confident because of her energy. I didn’t worry about how I was looking or any of the things I’d usually feel insecure about because she was so uplifting, steady, and fun!
“Since we already had the experience of working with Lisa for our engagement photos, we knew our wedding pics would be a fun moment instead of something to worry about. We trusted her so much and just leaned into each moment.”
She continues, “One of the best things about Lisa is she creates ideas to work off of, but then finds spontaneous inspiration in each moment too. Just when we thought we were done in an area, her creativity would capture something else incredible. Lisa also was very thorough with the timeline, which put us at ease. She gave us guidance and recommendations while also being flexible and letting us be us.”

Meet Nicolai
Dayna smiles, “I feel safe with Nicolai in a way I’ve never felt. I knew he had me so early on, and he has shown me that in the biggest and smallest ways. I love his love, and I absolutely love loving him. I feel so grateful he chose me and continues to choose me every day.”
“I love how we think differently and also use it as a way to work together. It feels like our differences actually strengthen us as a team instead of clashing. I love his humor and how he pulls my pigtails. He always brings so much life and playfulness to my day.”
The first Look: Equestrian Farm Wedding Photographer
Nicolai says, “ I love the way that Dayna always seems to know what I’m thinking or how I’m feeling. Something that I noticed very early on. While our relationship started off as a platonic friendship, something always drew me closer to her. I always wanted to know more about her in every aspect.”
“As cliché as it sounds, it feels like we’ve known each other for our entire lives. And it’s been amazing to see how our lives have overlapped over the years.”

Nicole says, “Dayna had a great idea about doing a barn-style wedding. Riverview Barn was the first one we looked at, and both really loved it.”
Dayna adds, “Riverview Barn was the first place we saw, and it felt silly to say yes to the first place, but that’s what ended up happening. Ian is the owner, and he is so proud and excited about his space. We couldn’t help but be excited about it, too. We loved everything about it. The outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour spaces were gorgeous and rustic. Inside was elegance and beauty with more of that rustic feel.”

Ceremony start: Equestrian Farm Wedding Photographer
Dayna says, “I was most looking forward to exchanging our vows on our wedding day. We didn’t know love like this existed. It was something we felt early on and has only deepened and grown since the beginning.”
Cocktail hour & Nacho the Donkey: what a vibe!
Dayna laughs, “Nacho! We are so excited to have Nacho, our beer donkey, at cocktail hour. He’s a signature of our venue and absolutely loved by all our guests.”
Nicolai says, “The major selling point was the Nacho add-on. Who would have thought having a donkey dishing out drinks would be such a sell? Dayna couldn’t help herself and told everyone about it before we even signed the contract, so we were too far gone and had to commit to it. Best add-on ever. “
NJ Barn Wedding: Traditions
Dayna says, “We loved that the reception space was created from the horse stables that were from the family farm. We also loved that there was a dance floor, outdoor seating around the fire pit, as well as a game space. Every inch of the venue was utilized by our guests, and they had the best time, which was all we wanted for our people.”
Best stepdad-daughter dance ever!
Dayna smiles, “My dance with my stepdad Steve was one of my favorite moments I keep replaying in my head. We started with a slow song, You’ve Got a Friend in Me, and then transitioned after a few seconds into Shake Your Groove Thing. The songs were planned, but what happened on the dance floor was totally unrehearsed.”
“We have a little moment in our history when we were doing 5Ks together. The warm-up before one of them was Zumba, and when I got in the car, I turned to him and said, ‘I learned something about you today….You have absolutely no rhythm’. It’s a moment that we laugh about a lot. So we were just going to have fun in an unrehearsed way and anticipated looking very silly, which we did.
She continues, “We both just leaned in and let the moment unravel, and it was so much fun! The song choices reflect our relationship well. We have been there for each other in many ways, and also just have fun together.”

Dayna shares, “I was so excited to share our love with each other while the people who love and support us could be there to feel it together. They sure did, and then we got to eat incredible food and have an awesome party. It was the perfect day.”
At the end of the Night: All the feels!
Dayna smiles, “We are definitely an example of what happens when you’re in the right place at the right time. Our lives had the opportunity to intersect so many times as we’ve learned about each other’s separate timelines, but they didn’t come together until we were both ready for each other at the exact right moment.”
